Doing my CeMAP Study, age restrictions?
Comments

No your age will not restrict you, but woud you take finacial advice off a 14yr old
No, but i am not 14 years old am I? I will most probably be 19 or 20 when i will be looking at becoming an advisor. As most others have said, if i show i know what i am talking about, then hopefully they will not be concerned about my age.The only trap you may fall into working for a bank is if you stay too long and get used to how 1 provider works - moving to a multi lender panel provider or whole of market provider after a period of time may be something to consider when you get to your early to mid 20's.
That is exactly why i am wanting to get the CeMAP out of the way, as it will be a good way to get my foot in the door and hopefully break away from a single provider role, as like you say, it takes a while to adjust to a whole of market environment.
Any other comments will be appreciated!
Thanks!0 -
Scott, ignore negative minded idiots who can't even read.
I own a company who CeMAP trained over 1,000 delegates last year so hopefully I am qualified to comment.
You sound an extremely positive minded individual and well placed to receive all the help and guidance to become a successful individual in the mortgage market.
It would seem that you have mapped out your career already, which is rare and unusual for someone so young.
There is no age limit to taking the CeMAP qualifications but it's not that important at your age, as your employer will supervise you anyway.
Well done and carry on regardless.

Thanks JoeK! Do you have any details of where i can book the exam, just wanting to compare prices as my mum has just finished it but she way paying quite alot per exam, just thought i may be able to get it a little cheaper.
Thanks to all again!0 -
You can only book the exam via the IFS at £120 x 3 unfortunately!
JoeK's courses are fabulous, by the way, I have done them myself.
If you want to know more pm me or Joe, I am sure he won't mind.0 -
If you can afford a CeMAP course then I would recommend going on one. I personally got sponsered by my employers for a CeMAP course and the actual cost for the 3 exams, lucky me.
I also found reading the IFS text books on CeMAP 1,2,3 abit hard to understand. I therefore purchased some alternative reading from https://www.archertraining.co.uk which helped a great deal.
I suppose it's down to your way of learning, everyone is different.
By the way, IFS exams are usually taken at most Driving Theory test centres. Call the IFS to discover which is closest to you.I am a Mortgage Adviser

The nearest one to me is doncaster, took my theory test there last year. Only a 15 minute drive so thats not a problem.
Will look into the courses, my mum went on one and really enjoyed it, its just getting the time off work.
