Budget, but romantic venues in West Sussex

Options
I have been having a nightmare with my venues, and they all seem to keep going wrong.... those problems aside though we're now without a venue, so need to work on finding a new one.

Does anyone know of any reasonably priced venues that are still romantic (i.e not a registrars office if possible).

We were looking at barns for an alternative as we were originally going to get married outside but that was cancelled by the venue, and we cant find a suitable replacement, but have come close with the idea of a barn wedding, but they're all so expensive (almost 4k just for the hire of it).

I don't mind paying for a lovely place, but that's taking the biscuit!

I'm worried we won't find somewhere nice, but reasonably priced... and slightly freaking out as it'll now our fourth attempt to book somewhere after three previous booked venues which have all been cancelled for one reason or another... am slowly losing the plot and have already trawled hundreds of google results, and was hoping for some inspiration if possible :(

Just a quick note to say that we're able to look at Surrey and East Sussex, we live about 10 miles from Brighton so as long as it's not a million miles from there I guess.

    Part of the Furniture
Manor Barn in Bexhill on Sea is nice. It's not a traditional type barn but it has lovely gardens and is very reasonable.

  • Thanks very much for the suggestion, will give them a call :)
  • their is an amazing barn next to and owned by English Martyrs Church in Goring by sea.

My dad had his 80 th birthday party their and because he is a member of the church it cost a ridiculous price of £80 but sure it will still be extremely cheap for outsiders too.

Will try to arrange a viewing, but it looks great
  • We are looking at the Weald and Downland museum which is in Singleton near Chichester (close to Goodwood!) looks lovely in the photos but haven't been to view it yet! :)

We viewed the weald and downland museum - it was a lovely setting, but we were to worried to take a chance on bad weather! For OP its definitely worth a look as its a bit like a old fashioned barn where you get married.

    We also liked....

    Arundel wildfowl and wetlands centre

HMS warrior (at Portsmouth dockyard) this was our 1st choice for a long while

We eventually settled on goodwood (you can get married at the racecourse/hotel/house - we got married at the hotel and the service received was amazing, they couldn't do enough for us and the day was stress free. Also not as expensive as you'd imagine.

    Good luck.
