bloglovin' is a good website for discovering new blogs. You can follow blogs on there, and there is an extension for your browser which will alert you when new posts are available by blogs that you follow.

You can also search the most subscribed blogs by category, or for most popular posts.

Another idea which has worked well for me is looking to see whether a blogger whose work I enjoy has a blogroll, or a list of recommended blogs. I've found some of my favourite blogs this way.
