Mortgage Payment Protection Insurance

When taking out our first time buyers mortgage 10 years ago, we were advised by the building society that we were required to take out Mortgage Payment Protection Insurance, if we didn't or mortgage would likely be refused.
This was arranged through the Building Society at the time of our mortgage application and we have been paying a financial company a monthly fee for mortgage payment protection (all correspondance comes to us direct form the finanacial company)
I'd like to start a PPi claim, but not sure if I do this against the Building Society or the Financial Company.

You complain to the seller of the insurance (in this case the b/S). Your complaint is weak if you have no evidence to back up your allegation. It will also void the insurance (cancel). So, make sure you dont want it. Also, statistically, most mortgage insurance complaints are rejected. So, whilst a very small number succeed, dont go with the expectation of success. Especially on a weak complaint like yours.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
