26" Widescreen TV - HD If Poss.

Hi.
I bought myself a 21" TV from Lidl for £50 about a year ago, but I am finding that everything nowdays is in widescreen. At first it was just DVDs, but I recently bought a Xbox 360, and a lot of games are widescreen-only. And now I notice that a lot of cable channels are going widescreen too.
So I am in the market for a widescreen TV. It can't be more than 26" - I would like bigger but that is the biggest I could fit in the space the current TV is in (on top of my chest of drawers, sandwiched between the computer table and wardrobe
)
I am not really bothered about make, and I could care less if it is TFT or LCD or a deep one (whatever you call them - CRT?).
What I do care about is price. I have seen a JVC for £100, but it is not HD ready. Do I have any hope of finding an HD-ready 26" widescreen TV near that price?

In truth - NO you cant.
For HD ready, it will have to be an LCD screen.
Cheapest are about £299 (but I'm sure there are cheaper deals listed on MSE)
The old style widescreen TVs are being phased out - very quickly.0 -
I remember being told that HD is pointless on anything less than about 32" by my masters professor,
so i wouldnt worry about that.
try ebay for a cheap tv, my widescreen 32" tv with skybox surround sound cost me £20 from ebay. (one before that £2
) everyone is selling up their crts for flatscreens it seems like. 0
