The other inbox in Facebook

Apologies if this has been discussed before but a friend of mine really wanted to go to a festival last weekend (Secret Garden Party) but he couldn't afford a ticket.
Yesterday he discovered that there is another inbox on Facebook and there was a message saying he had won tickets to the festival but it was, obviously, too late to go
The link below outlines how the other inbox can be found. I checked mine but there were no wins but an e-mail from someone from a local dating group I joined on FB from a really nice local (I have replied but the message was sent in August 2011 so I explained why it took nearly 2 years to respond!)

I know that non-comping friends didn't realise about the 'other' inbox too.
I check mine regularly, but it's usually empty...:)0 -
Facebook spam is worth checking occasionally also

I've found spam type stuff in the 'other' inbox. But don't have anything marked spam on my settings...
have you got a sign that says MORE next to the OTHER setting i just realised if i clicked on where it said MORE it brings down other options including spam to check in0 -

I had a guy try to 'friend' me several times last year and i ignored it.
Just found a message to say i'd won a mobile phone (galaxy tab 2) from him/the company, but this was Sept 2012.:(

Fortunately there was nothing competition related in there, just those 'apparent' men claiming I'm their soul mate.
I've never noticed the 'more' bit. Wish they wouldn't grey these things out...
