Return gift voucher to unaffordable shop?

Hi,

My friends very generously bought be a £250 gift voucher to a furniture shop which is ridiculously overpriced, and so I can't actually buy anything with that. With the exception of unwanted items such as giant wooden letters, the cheapest items in store are around £400, but even those are items I don't want. Is there any law that requires them to refund me the cash if they've sold a voucher that doesn't really cover anything in the store?

Thanks!

No law. They do not have to refund you the cash.

How about selling it on eBay?
