one of my two endowments matured

The first of my 2 endowments matured, over 25 years paid in £6591.00 and it has made £6464,97, it was intended to pay off 9k. I thought would have at least got back what paid in

Even after reading the series of shortfall letters they've sent you?

What was the basic sum assured of this endowment? Your return won't (or shouldn't) be less than this if it has been held to maturity.

Based on target/ payout I am assuming it was a low cost ( or unit linked) mortgage endowment . £22pm for £9K target seems expensive

was there either critical illness included or life element loaded? Or maybe wasn't for 25 years ?

    Which provider, what fund ?

HI yes 21.97 a month low cost and did include cover. it was to cover 9k. My other one for remainder of mortgage has a final bonus on. We have made provision by paying 6k off. Basically first house 9k, moved and 2nd endowment 15k but has this 2.300 bonus at the end. . after Aviva send this to Nat west will have about 11,500 owing, other one may just clear it with the bonus. If we are so short on a small mortgage dread to think how much others will be short. Only posted because I have read lately that some people are getting more than they thought. I got back approx £123 more than I paid in.
