Ikea Edinburgh by bus!

My independant pensioner Mother has tried on two occasions to get to Ikea by bus. On both occasions she has ended up at Straiton Retail park.
Now I know that, that is no so far away but to my Mum it would be a fair hike!
So does anyone from the Loanhead/Penicuik area know where the closest bus stop to Ikea is and what number bus stops there?
Thanks

If you put in EH20 9PW as your destination. you get a drop down where you can select Sainsburys

I'm guessing thats as close as it gets
I have never got the bus to Ikea Im afraid0 -
Yup, Sainsburys is the nearest I can remember as well. 47X From West Nicholson St0

Thanks to both of you. I wondered if perhaps there would have beena bus stop on the main drag where the old Wisemans used to be that may have been closer. I am not a user of buses either!i0

Bus stops outside Ikea - it's the bus stop after sainsbury's but still a walk to the front door. Bus stop to go back into Edinburgh is across from Asda. 37 can also be taken to Loanhead - get off at kilbreck house and walk along dryden terrace (just incase anyone catches a 37 by mistake and the drivers are insistent that you get off at Argos and walk up:mad:)0

Thanks natley. Kilbreck house is a fair walk to Ikea too!0

There is a number 40 bus that now goes along that road too - stops outside the sweetie factory across from costco. (And a pub on the way if light refreshment is needed)0

If you are coming from Edinburgh to Ikea the 47 stops just outside IKEA (the stop after the last Straiton Park stop, there are 2, one that stops outside the Boots/Costa area, and one that stops slightly further on that you would walk up to get to Sainsburys/Homebase.) ). It is a walk, down a slope, (and slightly hidden from the main path, so she needs to look for the railing and follow it down) but there is a railing for her to hold on to and it takes her out at the side of IKEA and if she follows the building round she will arrive at the front. I think there is an equivalent stop across the road if coming from Penicuik to IKEA, but closer to stopping outside the tail end of Asda, and she would have a bit of a walk, and have to cross a busy road.M.A.C.A.W member number 39

Check the bus stop numbers 64323798 and 64323823 on the following:

These are the closest stops to and from town. You can look at them on the bus tracker map to see where they are, just use the postcode that was posted above. There's traffic lights to cross the busy road and a path from the main road down the side of Ikea.0
