Ocean Florida makes promises it doesn't know if it can keep.

Hi, can anyone help me as to my rights regarding the following matter:
We booked a flight through ocean Florida with AA at which time I asked twice if seat back entertainment was part of our flight. We were told yes and booked. Months later we found out this was not the case and I complained they told me that there was nothing they could do even though they have my conversation on tape, apart from sending us vouchers to buy a personal DVD player for my son with ADHD. I then asked if there was power points onboard to keep it charged. I was sent our flight documents on Saturday which list inseat power as onboard facility. Since then I've found out we only have seats on one of four flights which we will have this facility. What are our rights? What can we do now?
Thanks in advance.

Are you flying to Orlando as AA do not fly there direct from any UK airport, indeed they only fly to Miami direct? I have to say if I had a child with ADHD, I would have never booked connecting flights even if they were cheaper as it makes the journey so much longer.
You will have seat back entertainment on the transatlantic flight to New York or Chicago, neither of which are ideal airports to transfer planes as the queues at immigration can be dreadful but there will not be entertainment on the connecting flight. I am not sure you have any claims unless you can be certain you asked for seat back entertainment from beginning to end rather than ' will there be seat back entertainment?' which there will be for the majority of your trip. I have to say the offer to pay for a DVD player is above and beyond what most travel agents would offer!0 -
Thanks for sharing your opinion just really wanted to know consumer rights so that was a bonus. No tv on any fight I make sure I'm fully informed before travelling. As we are stopping over its not an issue re longer flight times!!
Although I'm no better off consumer right wise.0 -
Are you flying in the 0950 to JFK from Manchester as that seems to be the only possible flight still using a 757 where not all the aircraft have been upgraded? I don't think you are entitled to anything, airlines, even Virgin who are quite specific in every brochure I have seen, never guarantee that in flight entertainment will work and do not offer compensation if it doesn't, hence my comment about the generosity of your agent0
