Hi
I work 40 hrs a week, and i have 2 kids with a pervious partner, ages 10 and 9, there mother seems to be getting worse and worse with them and they both want to live me now, which I really want. But i have no idea about what sort of childcare i could get.
I work as a assistant manager in a tool shop, and am on call for anyone not turning up to work, and for any break in's.
I dont live with anyone else, and wouldnt really want to rely on family to get my kids from school, is there any sort of child care, where they would pick them up from school, and wait till i get home, which could be between 2 to 5 hours, plus i also work weekends and wouldnt know what to do about that either.
Does anyone know where i could get advice for this, my kids are upset with what is going at there home.
If you need more info let me know please. Not so good at explaing myself.
Thanks for reading

Hi,
Have you thought about employing a nanny, if the nanny was Ofsted registered you would be able to claim childcare element of WTC ( if entitled to it ) it might be worth looking on your local councils website for childcare providers in your area too, some childminders do offer care at weekends too.
I hope you manage to get something sorted asap for all concerned.
Also be sure to get child benefit etc.transferred to you and apply for child maintenance too. Good luck.0 -
I'd say a nanny too, or a very flexible childminder. Either that or consider adjusting your job/career.
Oh, or if you can afford it perhaps an au pair. You won't be able to claim tax credits for them, though, and you'll need a spare room.Grateful to finally be debt free!0 -
Consider an Aupair, if you have enough space...
It is a better option for your needs and of children that age, a nanny would be very expensive, and childcare is not always easy to organise at short notice...0
