Hi Guys, I need some advice I run up some creditcard debts a few years back which was ok because I was working, but then sadlyI lost my wife and I became disabled, and I just couldn't keep up the payments,I tried the Consumer Credit Counselling Service, who were a great help, butthey couldn't take me on as there was no disposable income, but they gave me aletter to send to RMA collections, and I have been paying a token amount everymonth, now RMA want to review theagreement , they have asked for a financial statement which I understand butthey also want copies of my bank account statements which I am very reluctantto provide, it’s not that I have anything to hide, but like everyone there arepersonal details on these accounts which I want kept private, so my question isthis, do I have to supply bank statements or not, are there any legalobligations for me to do so, my circumstances haven't changed and I will signany affidavit to confirm this, but I really don't see why I should have tosupply my bank details, some feedback please guys, thanks

Hi,
You are under no legal obligation whatsoever to show these people anything, at all, not even your income/expenditure, they have no legal rights/powers at all !! Your personal information is just that, personal, if you cant afford to pay anymore than you are doing just write a letter to that effect, do not ever phone them or speak to them on the phone, always communicate in writing, tell them your circumstances have not changed, and there is no legal requirement for you to provide your personal details to them, end of !!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
