Have you ever read the shopaholic series? I identify so much with it - buying your way into the fantasy life you should have. Last time (in August) it was my tefl course which was obviously going to pave my way to a high flying career around the world. (I did finished it though - yet to apply for a single job:rotfl:)
Haha yes I used to read those books and totally relate! Also I do the phases where I am disciplined (like now, I am being very good
) and then I see something that I think 'oh if I just had that dress/top/whatever it would make the perfect outfit for work/going out etc' and then it just snowballs from there until I get another wake-up call that I haven't paid off my cc that I promised myself I would do!
As you have probably read in my diary, I am using studying as an excuse to stay in the house and out of trouble in my spare time until April. Luckily I don't really have a thing for internet shopping, otherwise there would be trouble!
Good luck and I am sure that if you stick with it you'll achieve your goal, which sounds like a pretty amazing one by the way![STRIKE]Family £400[/STRIKE] CC1 [STRIKE]£415[/STRIKE] Lloyds [STRIKE]£460[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]Natwest£750[/STRIKE] £627.59 Tesco [STRIKE]£1880[/STRIKE] £1725 Grand total £2,352.59

Still feeling a bit under the weather so didn't feel too sad about having to stay in today waiting for the music magpie pick-up. We also had someone from freecycle picking up a shelf, so at least that's some of the clutter gone.
Listed 7 items on ebay today but they didn't sell last time so I'm not too hopeful about them. I think if they don't sell I'll just hand them into Oxfam as apparently you can get nectar points for it. We shall see!
Up to date with my one poll etc, still a little way off from a payout but every little helps doesn't it?
Also applied for a weekend job with Asda as I'm really not sure I'll be able to reach my saving goals on my current income alone. Worth a try anyway!Save0 -
I absolutely agree that travelling is worth it
I have two holidays a year.... one city and one beach, but there are so many places on the list: Mexico, USA, Australia, New Zealand... it goes on and on!
I used to be a travel agent and planned some pretty amazing trips for people while I was there..... My debts are preventing me from going to any of them at the moment.
Anyway on a positive that will encourage me to get it paid quicker

Low spend yesterday, just 99p for some fries at Burger King. Had to get up early to drive my parents to Glasgow because they're away for a few days, which means I can use the car while they're away

Came home from work yesterday and made pizza for the first time and it was okay! Not fantastic, like a take away place might be but it was edible and I had fun making the sauce. Other than it was just a quiet night in for me. I even read a book, which I haven't in what feels like ages!
No bids on my ebay items but it's early days so fingers crossed. I realised I have a wii laying unused under my bed so I might see if I can trade that in at a game store or cash converters type place, hopefully get maybe £20 for it. Better than it sitting doing nothing.
The woman from the learning shop got in touch about me volunteering so I've got an appointment on Tuesday to have a chat with her about it. I hope I can do it as I'd really love to help people, I feel like I'm stagnating a little right now. 9 loooong days until pay day
Hope everyone is having a good day xxSave0 -
NSD today. Fried up some homemade pizza for dinner which was terribly unhealthy but cheap.
Haven't heard anything from Asda or the mystery shopping site I signed up to but fingers crossed.
Received a blazer I ordered from ebay today but I don't like it at all so I think I'll just list it myself and hope I get my money back.
Just waiting to get paid now, still 8 days to go, so boring!Save0 -
How did you fry the pizza??? Intrigued as never heard of doing that![STRIKE]Family £400[/STRIKE] CC1 [STRIKE]£415[/STRIKE] Lloyds [STRIKE]£460[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]Natwest£750[/STRIKE] £627.59 Tesco [STRIKE]£1880[/STRIKE] £1725 Grand total £2,352.59

I made the pizza as normal, let it go cold while I was at work, then just stuck the slices in the fryer! Maybe it's a Scottish thing? :rotfl: I wanted to try it as I love it from the chippy but it wasn't as good. I think I need to work on my dough if I'm to have really good tasting pizza!Save0

Didn't get the job at Asda, but I was expecting that. Most of the places around here want you to work part-time but with full time availability sadly. It'd be easier if I actually lived in town, that way I could get a job in a bar or something, much easier to work my hours round it.
But C'est la vie! Onwards and upwards. Only 6 days to payday now...Save0 -
2 bids on ebay! Won't get too excited until they pay as I've been burned before with that but yaaaay. Let the decluttering commence!
On the other hand I'm finding it really hard not to buy things. Every time I go on ebay I watch something else. I've had to close it for now as I was thisclose to buying a stand mixer (I'll use it so much! I'll make my own bread! I'll be totally domestic and everyone will be jealous of my mad breadmaking skillz!).
I have to stay strong!Save0 -
Yay, three things sold on ebay. Not for massive amounts but gets them out my room and every little helps. 2 have paid, just waiting for the third one now, then I'll leave the money in paypal and await fees before I move it to my savings.
Had to struggle today not to go down to my local and buy a load of junk food, but I managed it. Even when I have money it's just such a waste, when I know I can make tasty food here. I'm not the best cook in the world but I know the basics, and I can feed myself. It's just never as delicious as a bag of doritos and some dip!
I have a grocery shop on mysupermarket waiting to be ordered on Friday. It'll cost me £28 but that's including a razor and and some shaving cream. I was hoping to get enough on valued opinions to get a boots voucher to pay for it, but it's getting too desperate now sadly. My shampoo and conditioner is running low anyway, so hopefully i can stretch it out until then.
Have an appointment ay my local Adult Learning Shop tomorrow to talk about volunteering as an ESOL teacher and I'm really excited about it. I studied it last year and I'd really like to put it into practice, plus I have too much spare time which is unfortunately used for spending too much money!
5 days until payday...Save0
