Medinose type product from Lloyds £14.99!

Options
Hi there fellow hayfever/allergy sufferers!

Thought this may be worth a new thread - for anyone who has been wondering wether to invest in a Medinose (light therapy gadget which is supposed to relieve hayfever/allergies). I've been thinking about it but at around £60+ if it didn't work I would be p****d off! :D

I saw an advert in The Sun yesterday for Lloyds Pharmacy Allergy Reliever £14.99, £45 off! I checked on the Lloyds website for more info but nothing on there so went into my local Lloyds today (well went twice as first time it was shut for lunch - didn't think that happened in 2007! ) to see if they had it and they had it but hadn't even got it out on the shelves yet. The pharmacist had never heard of it, or Medinose, so not really got her finger on the pulse but on reading the leaflet said it made sense it would help relieve symptoms.

Anyway for £14.99 thought it was worth a go. Had it 'on' at work for first go which caused amusement - it has 2 light probes to put up your nose for 3 minutes (up to 4 times a day) which glow red - through your nose!!!!:rotfl:

Thanks, will have a look at this. A friend of mine has the Medinose and says it works (she bought it from a website where you got a full refund if it didn't work)
My daughter wanted one but couldn't manage the cost so I will pass this info on.

If you want an actual 'Medinose' then this is the cheapest I found a couple of months ago.

    Hi Loopy_Lou,

I've been suffering so bad this year that I thought I'd give it a try. Lloyds had them on the shelf in Portsmouth, but it sounds like it might be worth ringing ahead before you make the journey. Its in a green box called Allergy Reliever. I think the code for it is 5037560016108K.

I'm pretty sceptical about the difference that sticking 2 LED's up my nose is going to make, but I was so bad £15 seemed like a good gamble if it works.

I've used it 4 times now, last night it didn't seem to do much, but I used it again this morning (along with the beconase, eye drops and the usual anti-histamine...) and it does seem to be doing something. Unlike normal, my nose has dried up, and I just feel bunged up with a bit of a headache now, rather than runny.

I'm still sceptical... It could just be the fact that I'm shoving some bits of plastic up my nose, rather than any 'magical' light cure, but for £15 I would say its worth going for.

if it doesn't work for you... clean it up and sell it on ebay :O) eeewwwww...

This year I have been trying a few different methods of controlling my hayfever. Nasaleze is a good natural product which works well for me, I have added Quecetin B5 complex to my treatment as recommended by a pharmacist in a local free rag. This worked well until the main pollen season kicked in and then I have had to combine these with the usual antihistamine.
