I made an unsecured personal loan to my now ex daughter in law, who has defaulted. There is two thousand pounds outstanding.
I have obtained a Court Order for the repayment of the loan.
No payments are being made.
Any ideas as to how I recover the debt without throwing more money at it ?????

You mean you took out a loan for the ex daughter in law ?
Not alot you can do really without splashing more cash out on getting it back.
You can ask her but I bet you have already tried that.0 -
You use the methods of enforcement through the court, such as garnishee orders and payments from her bank account, but these will cost you money.urs sinserly,

Most of the options now available to you are going to cost.

Garnishee orders are now called 3rd party debt orders.
The option that some bottom end debt collectors use is a Statutory Demand, but this is only a real threat if the individual must avoid bankruptcy because of their job, or equity in a property.
You do need to be wary of 'throwing good money after bad' - I've seen cases where someone went down this route, spent a lot of money, only to find the debtor paid £90 and did a Debt Relief Order, (or in the old days an Administration Order, and they still exist)0 -
It looks like 'Kiss it goodbye' and move on.
She really makes my **** boil - the !!!!!
Thanks anyway.0
