Obtaining credit after mortgage approval

Hello, we have got a mortgage approval. Just waiting to complete on house sale. My question is this....my husband wants to change his mobile phone contract to a better deal. If he takes out this new contract will it put our mortgage approval at risk as the mobile phone company will credit check him. Its the same per month as what he's getting now, so not increasing our outgoings, just gets more data, calls etc. Any ideas?

Standing order no.38, no new credit between mortgage application and completion.
It makes no difference if it's a replacement. A new search and a new account will appear on your credit record.I am a mortgage broker.
