Nowadays it is £920 + solicitors costs.
Wow. The total they're asking for isn't even that much! Never mind the fact that when the damage is added up they owe ME nearly £700 IF the moving costs are taken off!
I've written the counter claim now, I take it I'm right to send it to the dca and they'll pass back to the client if they feel like it. Is there anything else to.do? Should I submit a money claim right now to 'get in first' so to speak?0 -
How much do they claim you owe? has to be £750+ for bankruptcy so if below that it's a scare tactic.0

You do know that its illegal to cancel a cheque if issued correctlyDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
-
its only illegal if you deliberately write the cheque knowing at the time that you intend to cancel it.0

Helpful reply, thanks so much. I wouldn't have had to cancel it if this cowboy hadn't irreplably damaged my goods and then refused to acknowledge it. I still haven't had so much as an apology!0
