Easy to warm up dishes ?

My DS and I always seem to want to eat at different times. I'm fairly new to the Old Style and cooking in general and I have been generally cooking curries, chillies and shepherds pie but this isn't working out too successfully as I'm very wary of reheating rice so the rice dishes and I don't want to be spending my evening 'supervising' DS as he boils up rice.

Just wondering what others do if they have partners or kids who need to eat later ? What kind of meals do you prepare that can be easily warmed up (preferably in microwave)

Any ideas would be appreciated :D

My DH and I always eat later than our kiddlies, as he doesn't get in until 7, and the kiddlies need to eat before then.

My meal plan has a "kiddlies" column and a "grown up" column and they tend to differ. The children tend to eat stuff that can be bunged in the oven (I cook it on the timer while I go and pick them up from after school club.) It tends to be HM ready meals, cottage pie, macaroni cheese, nuggets, that sort of thing. once a week we have pasta, but as that only takes 15 mins I cook it when we get home and use a defrosted HM sauce.

I tend to do the same thing for the grown ups, although I have slightly more time to cook us something fresh, but to be honest it does mostly come out of the freezer too.

I do most of my batch cooking at the weekend.
