BS7878 Checks and DMP

Hi,
I have been offered a new job but have been told they will do a BS7858 check on me.
I see that part of this is a credit check. Does anyone know what this checks. I am on a DMP so assume my credit file is awful. But have no CCJ's nor have I been declared bankrupt.
I have been paying it for approx 6 years.
Can this stop me getting the job. The job is not in financial services.
