Dispute with Santander. Help plz.

Hello All
I'm posting here 1. because I'm in debt and 2. because this will impact my debt - Hope that's okay!
Anyway here is my problem. I have a dispute with Santander Finance - the section that offers HP Finance.
Anyway my car was not as described, so I'm asking them to make this right via compensation.
They tell me no, you had a remedy for this with the dealer. I don't agree, but they refuse to deal with me and state that the dealer did X, Y and Z to settle my complaint.
My question is are they still not responsible, the HP agreement state only they are responsible and not the dealer. Yet they state the dealer has settled my complaint.
Thanks

No expert here. Did the say you can escalate the complaint to FOS or other body? Or just go away?:beer:0

They said I can escalate to FOS or the Leasing and Finance Association (I think), or if I could prove what I was saying I should tell them and they would review the decision...
The problem I'm having is, how do you prove that a dealership did not compensate you by reducing the alledged selling price.
The main issue is they refer to a full and final settlement and don't give me a copy, despite they say in the letter "Please see attached copy".
From one letter to the next they change their story, but use the words "as per our last letter, bla bla bla remains unchanged", but that point is completely different for example last time it was Mrs. Smith but this time it's Mr. Jones.
I feel like they have no clue and I think if they looked at my complaint they may just decide what I am saying is true and it's only fair that they at least consider helping me or at least say this is the truth and now sod off we are not giving you anything! :-)0 -
Just refer to the FOS etc or whoever else they say. May take a while but as long as you are in no rush. Include copies of all letters etc highlighting inconsistencies etc.
Harder to fob them off.
Life's too short to mess around with banks in my opinion. My FOS success rate is currently 100% from 5 cases. Some not as good as others, but at least it costs the bank £500 or so per case irrespective:beer:0
