Remortgage deals with santander (existing customers)

Anyone know what the current deals are for existing santander mortgage customers looking for a new deal?

We've been approved 2.89% fixed for 5 years with Yorkshire but I'm curious what existing lender would offer.

For some reason Santander don't publish their rates for existing customers and to be honest having spent 3 hours on the phone with Yorkshire I'm not sure i can deal with another lengthy sales call!!

75% LTV

Cheers

Varies customer to customer. Hence why you need to call them.

Santander are using it as a tool to review their mortgage book.

Are the deals good though? Basically can't be bothered to go through it all if they're just going to offer 4/5%. If they are being competitive I'll do it to save associated costs

If you can't be bothered to help yourself why should other people be bothered with your post?

I can if its worth it - just trying to see if anyone has recently went through the process to see what deals they are offering.

You need to call them and ask them about their customer retention products for you, in particular. They don't publish them as they appear to want to use the process to retain some borrowers, while "encouraging" others to go elsewhere.

I would imagine the furore when some saw what others were offered would cause some friction.

AFAIK only Nationwide offers the same or better products to its existing borrowers as it does new ones.

we're currently with Santander, they wouldnt give us a decent deal to retain us so we switched to Tesco - 2.49 fixed for 5 year

So if Santander are deliberately picking and choosing which customers they want to keep and which they are happy to let go do you not think this surely this makes an great excuse to discuss what rates they are offering?

They might not like it, but so what? This site is about helping us save and pick the best deals.

I'll ring them later and post what offer they make (If I am one of the chosen few!)

One quick phone call would tell you exactly what they can offer you.

Thanks for the helpful replies on here.

For anyone else wondering, rates I have been offered are as follows:

All fixed rates correct as of 26/07/13

    Term: 2yr Fixed
    Rate: 3.49%
    Fee: £499

    Term: 3 & 5 yr Fixed
    Rate: 3.99%
    Fee: No Fee

    Term: 10 yr Fixed
    Rate: 3.94%
    Fee: £799

20 minute phone call, was actually quicker than reading the obvious / pointless replies here.

Therein lies a lesson for us all, perhaps.
