Is this possible with an unsecured loan..?
Just thinking out loud but if say I needed to take out a loan for 5k.Could I ask for this amount to be split into 2 sums of 3k and 2k with the larger of the two taken out over a shorter period of time with the interest adjusted..?
Would this then mean you could benefit by clearing the bulk of the loan quicker, lower APR(as 5K seems to be a threshold on when APR's are lower)save on interest and but at the same time not have to apply for 2 loans?
Like I say just wondering !....

...or go for a credit card for the short term debt.
A 4.9% APR life of balance card is possible for that type of cash0 -
They would have to open 2 loans and as a result they would charge more interest on the loans.
If a LOB credit card is not to your liking get one loan for the amount you really need - but check first that they will allow you to overpay without penalties.0
