Hi,
Been googling for the different CTF accounts available and theres plenty of info on the types of accounts but not so much on who does them and what they offer, so thought of my good friends on MSE and hoped you could help me
Can anyone recommend any? Do any offer freebies? Which do people think is the best?
Thanks for any help guys.
P.S. If this is in the wrong place......Sorry.....please feel free to move it.:o

Not sure if this is of any help but when i set up my son's through Asda I received £10 gift card for setting it up and another £10 for making regular payments (min £5 per month).
This was over 3 years ago though so not sure if that offer is still on. I applied through their website.0 -

The Asda free gift card offer is still available. You get £10 free or more if you commit to making additional direct debit payments into the CTF:

The Children's Mutual offer £20 Mothercare vouchers providing you make extra top-ups:

Natwest offer a booklet of money-off/discount vouchers for opening a CTF with them (no additional payments required.) You get an extra voucher booklet if you do set up a direct debit as well:

Martin has got a useful article about Child Trust Funds HERE which may be helpful as well.

Don't be fooled into going for the freebies when it comes to CTFs. There's far better gains to be had by opting for the right account than one that just offers an incentive such as a shopping voucher.
In short, don't go for an interest-based account (as most do) but instead go for a shares-based one. Shares have out-performed interest for every 18 year period in the last 40 years.
Also be wary of those charge a percentage of the total fund (again, most do).
For my two sons, I opted for a shares based account through Selftrade. If this is of interest to anyone reading, please PM me with your email address and I'll send a referral from my account. (We each stand to get an additional £50 from Selftrade's referral scheme that way. :T )0 -
would this not be better on a different forum?
Somewhere in here would get the best advice:

I got sent a small bear by the foresters for asking for info on their CTF (didn't go with them, so a genuine freebie). This was ages ago, so don't know if it is still available. In a Den first, Theo Paphitis has been getting business information from a talking tree.0
