Fixing iPhones for extra cash. Does anyone do this?

I fixed my friends after watching a YouTube tutorial no problem. I've been watching faulty phones on eBay and I would make approx £40. I would only do it by buying/selling them on eBay first then maybe charge people I know. Does anyone do this is it worth it?

A man on our local selling page does this, he does it after work and on weekends and he seems to do at least 10 a week, but then its quite busy where we live. He advertises on selling pages and people recommend him to others. I've used him, £35 for about 10 minutes work but I didn't mind paying it as I wanted the iPhone fixed before I sold it!

    Why stop at iPhones?.
With Android-based handsets growing in popularity (at the expense of the iPhone), there is an even bigger market than you think.

I have just bought a iphone 3g with a cracked screen for £30, bought a new screen and a new back cover. Hopefully it goes ok and I will list it on ebay or Facebook. I'll let you know how it goes :-)

Our local facebook seek n sell pages gets 2 or 3 requests a day for fixing smashed iphone screens plus the odd request for fixes dodgy buttons etc..

Two guys always get the recommendations for doing a good job and being reasonable, they tend to charge cost of parts plus usually £10 labour for most jobs. If you got you name known for doing a good job and use decent parts then you could get 5 fix requests a week just by word of mouth.
