Equifax help

Hi all.
This is my first post so hope this hasn't be asked before.
I am currently trying to get a new mortgage. We have found a house and have offered the asking price. It's been accepted.
When looking at my equifax credit report it still shows my existing mortgage on there which should be removed soon as I sold the house and paid and closed the old mortgage.
Can the old mortgage on my report affect a new application for a mortgage ?
It still shows the full amount I paid and shows status as uptodate.

Nope. Tick the "repaid, or to be repaid on/before completion" box on the application and it will be ignored.I am a mortgage broker. Hi kingstreet my fanancial advisor has submitted the application as a new mortgage and ticked the box saying no other mortgage and it got declined but they would not say why.
I have asked northern rock to remove it ASAP and asked equifax to remove my ex partner off my report from financial associates as she has bad credit.0 -
Like KS says an mortgage showing as outstanding should be declared with intention to repay before completion of the new mortgage.
If the new lender picks a mortgage up on the credit file that was not declared at application this could be the issue.
Depending on on the declining lender is you may be able to rectify this.I am a Mortgage Broker
