Exchange to completion query

Hi,
I am in the process of purchasing a new build, I have got my mortgage offer and I'm about to exchange. The property is scheduled to be finished by 1st October so there will a couple of months at least between exchange and completion.
My query is around use of credit cards during this time. I usually put mine and my partners car insurance on the cc and pay it off over a few months however is this a good idea give the mortgage company (Nationwide) could re-check my credit at anytime? I have read some horror stories about offers being withdrawn etc and don't want this happening!
Just for info her renewal is end of August and mine is mid September.
Thanks in advance for any help

Best to avoid any expenditure on your cards if you can, but I suspect a motor insurance premium won't hurt you.I am a Mortgage Broker

Thanks for the quick response, will probably just try and save like mad between now and then to pay them off with cash, better to be safe than sorry I guess!0
