tax allowances on uniform

Hi hope someone can help

I work as a full time employed beauty therapist and have had to supply my own work tunics, trousers and shoes for nearly four years as well as the cleaning expenses. In addition to this i have had to supply all of my college equipment. Can i claim back the tax on any of this? I keep hearing about tax allowances and since my uniform and equipment was expensive am hoping i heard correctly. Can someone also tell me how many years can i back date.

How far are you looking to go back? If you going back further than 2 years, just make it clear that it is a one off claim. Clearly state it was needed for the business' performance and soley for business use.
