The thing that is really winding me up is that they told me the job I had been offered is no longer available only to find out a few days later that someone else who got offered one of the jobs 2 months later has been slotted into it! Why did the operational manager have to lie? Could she not just have said we have offered that job to someone else and you cannot do it anymore. Have you got a mortgage to pay off? If you left, would you be able to survive? These are the questions you need to ask yourself. I feel very sorry for those folk who have to stay in a job and get walked over and treated like a slave, because they can't leave.
Bless you and those who are in an awful predicament at work. Its times like these (recession), that brings out the worst and of course best in people).
Thank you YG. What a lovely response. It has made me think. I don't actually need the job nor do I want to be treated like b/s. I'm normally a walk over at work and I think they are taking advantage of that. I can't make my mind up whether I should cause a commotion/possibly get sacked and then take them to court over it (my lawyer friend knows all the ins and outs and he thinks I would definitely win!) or just suck it up and see. I'm tempted to go for the latter, that's what dear Mother recommends, but if I do that, they will just walk over me at any opprtunity they get.
The new job starts in 2 weeks and that is the main reason I have been overeating. I am looking at a 6 pack of Walkers at this very moment!
As of next week, I am going to the gym religiously and I shall be taking some of that L Cartinine as well. It's meant to be good. Thanks for the hug though LOGIE. Hope you are doing well. I've not been on for a while so not sure how you are keeping. Are you still rocking the Jessie J look? Totes #beautfiul.
PS. SPAR stores reduce all their bread to 50p if they are going off that day. They do it about 11pm the night before. Milk is also heavily reduced as well as cakes and stuff. Start looking for a new one immediately - if the job is stressing you then you need to talk to your doctor about this. Take my advice and do not walk away - you end up the loser to a certain extent- stay but start looking and take time out from this stress.
Thanks LADY P for the kind words. I think once I start the job, I will be fine. It's just the fact that they have lied to me about my job no longer being available hence being shoved into another team. Also, with being off for 2 weeks and not knowing what's going on is making me think all sorts. These 2 weeks were meant to be my chill out before I started my new super easy job. Errrr.
Sorry if I am being a complete sooky lala. It's just about a new and I should be ashamed of myself when there are people who don't have jobs/houses/in war torn countries/no food/no parents etc etc but it's just got a bit too much for me. You expect people high up at work to be honest and not talk out of their backsides.
Anyway, I am calm now. Honest. Thanks all for the replies and the pm's. Appreciated. Long live the MSE Elite.;)
PPS. Huge thanks to whoever pointed out the Tesco Red Spotted Hanky offer. Managed to use all 2 of my online £5 vouchers. Had a lovely day in Manchester. Cheers.0 -

Mimi - keep ranting if you need - it is terrible what they have done. Did you get anything in writing .... its very sus?
Easier to get a job from a job - but mimi they don't deserve any loyalty. So start looking in your own time. Don't let them walk over you but remember you may need one or two on your side for reference purposes so keep a couple sweet if you can.
Agree with your lawyer friend you may have a very good case for an industrial tribunal but that will bring its own stress.... so only you can decide that ......
Is your new job the same but with a different team or different job altogether.
Sending hugs and don't let the b...s get you down.:A
For you (can't find the original from the film ) next best thing - enjoy ....... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yx6-VAsgjx40 -

My hair is growing pretty quickly nowAbout an inch long and i'm suspicious that it's getting a wave to it..... Lot of people told me it may come back curly. Still, my straighteners are safely packed away in case they are needed
Recovery is slow going, probably because I don't rest enough. But then I don't have the opportunity to lay in bed for hours when looking after 2 demanding little boys. I'll get there eventuallySaw Dr today who has started me on Citalopram to see if it helps. Not sure antidepressants are the answer but i'll give them a shot. Sure i'll feel better once i'm out of this limbo.
Hope you can put work to the back of your mind and enjoy your time off♥ Worrying does not empty tomorrow of it's troubles.... it empties today of it's strength ♥0 -
