Struggling to cope with the change from 40 degrees in France to 20-25 here in the NE and the rain. Got straight back into whoopsie shopping though last night and piad £5 for several days worth of food instead of £30 -£40 in France. Did however pick up a few bargains over there at their Vide Grenier ("empty attic" = car boot sale) and a clothing outlet near Calais where Levis were 10 euros. Mostly odd sizes but managed to get a pair of 501s to fit me. Happy days:)

Hope everyone is well as I haven't a hope in hell of catching up

How lovely to see you back artha :)

Got APG and PP figured out pretty much, getting better with coupons, just need some advice with whoopsie shopping. I have a T an A and M fairly close by, T is a 24 hour, A and M shut at 10pm most nights, any advice as to what sort of time is probably best to go. It's Newport if anyone has any local knowledge.

Quite funny. We have just had the chap from Virgin round to install our (free) HD box. He took both the scarts out and asked which one was the one to the TV so I told him (needs scart plugged in for start up), he offered to remove the old one from the DVD/HD recorder as it is "no longer possible to record off a Virgin box". Of course, as soon as he went I re-jigged the wiring and have the box through to my HD recorder again. How many people actually BELIEVE them about that? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

And, before you ask, I have tested and the picture is through there perfectly OK :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Got to go off and get another optical cable now to get the sound through to our system. Hopefully Poundland will have one.

Thanks Flo (I think it was Flo!) for the tip about the Finest Pork Pies. The coupon scanned as the till recognised the 'before discount' price.

Now, does anyone know if I can freeze these (not that I have any room in my perishing freezers!) ? I can't see why not but the packet says 'keep refridgerated' (although it doesn't actually say'do not freeze ).'

Seeing as I have 6 Rustlers and 12 mini pork pies in the fridge I think I have overbought - as I''m still on the 2:5 diet !

Going to have to go to T's to use up my last 11 Dr O's vouchers today. No car so can't get to A's. Just hope they take 11 in one go without a trouting.

How many Dr O's vouchers does everyone have for the coming months? I have somehow ended up with 40 per month which seems like an awful lot, even with eight of us eating them. The children are getting a bit sick of them and I don't really like them that much anyway!

If they are going to give a profit then I think I'll use them and give away the pizzas to friends and family.

Thank you to everyone whose advice has helped me in my desperate quest to make ends meet. x

EDIT-Back on the quest, I've been away too long!
