Passing on of debts

Arrow Global have appointed another collecting agency to collect whats left of my debt,i had an agreement to pay a set amount by direct debit to the previous collection agency but now i have to get in touch with Wescot Credit agency, thing is i dont know howuch i have left of the debt and have now had two phone calls from capquest, looked up capquest and i'm a bit frightened. Not sure what on earth to do.

What sort of debt and when from?

You have a right to ask for a statement of account and breakdown.

It's a credit card debt, it's from quite a while ago but have been paying a small amount (what I can afford) for over 4 years

That is one way. The other is to just demand a summary of what has been paid off and what is still owed. Under OFT guidelines you are entitled to make a reasonable request like that.
