Don't do it!!
Have you got any experience within the industry?
I think if you have no prior experience then CeMAP is easier to pass. Learn the book and get the feel for how the answers are arrived at.
Get study material from ifs or even from ebay etc.
Good luckI am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. CeMAP is more from the lenders point of view, so if you are in mge admin/UW rather than a sales based role, I would certainly recommend this route (although you do find that employed mge adviser roles also typically ask for the applicants to be CeMAP qualified, rather than the CII mge adviser qualification.
Apart obv from the study book, past papers are an important part to success, in helping you to understand how the examiners phrase the questions and the depth of knowledge reqd, and will give you an idea of the consitently heavily tested area of the syllabus.
There's a lot of info to absorb, although you may be familiar/have some experience with some areas from your current role - helpful revision tools are pnemonics and mind mapping, which generally help you to more readily absorb and recall info, than just by trying to memorise and recall a page or list of points..
There are also on-line and course based study courses to help, in fact your own internal training dept may operate in-house exam prep courses.
Additionally, as suggested by Amnblog, if the qualification has direct correlation with your role, then ask your employer (via your line manager and HR) to fund the qual. (generally they'll fund the coursebook/registration, initial exam & 1 re-sit).
Hope this helps ... wish you well in your quest x
