Can someone clarify this please Is there a legal minimum amount of entitlement I'm employed full time 40 hours per week just noticed on the CAB website it says that the legal minimum entitlement for someone employed 40 hours per week is 5.6 weeks (28 days) does this 28 days include all bank holidays inc Xmas etc or are they on top of the 28
Again today I try to book my holiday and again I'm told you can't have it its our 30 wedding anniversary we are going away and its looking like I'm going to have a major problem everytime I book my holiday they always come up with problems in letting me have it at Xmas for example every year its the same told nobody's having any time off in December then every year the same four or five people are strangely on leave

If the CAB website says that it is not quite correct.
The statutory (legal) entitlement is to 5.6 weeks.
That equates to 28 days for someone contracted to work 5 or more days a week.
Bank holidays can be included in the count of days leave. That does not mean there is an entitlement to bank holidays, just that if they are taken as holiday they can be included in that entitlement.
Employers can say exactly when holiday may be taken. What they can't do is deny you the possibility of taking the holiday during the holiday year. It is up to you to ask in good time of course.0 -
Sorry Imstill lost the standard entitlement where I work is 22 days per year this does not include any bank hols which are paid on top of the 22 is this correct or should they be giving 5.6 weeks pa plus all the bank hols0

This is correct - so long as you get at least 6 bank holidays off. As there are usually 8 bank holidays (I think?) you are probably getting two days above the minimum.
You must have at least 28 days off in total and your employer may tell you when those days are (eg bank holidays). But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Full timer gets a minimum of 5.6 weeks or 28 days which can include bank hols, you are getting 22 days plus all the bank hols so are better off. If they want they can dictate when you have your hols as long as the correct notice is given and you are allowed to take them within the relavant hol yearBe Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

Sorry I was not clear.
You are getting 22 days plus 8 bank holidays.
That totals 30 days. So 30 is more than 28 and your employer is meeting their legal obligation.
It isn't simply a case of full-timers getting a minimum of 28 days.
Someone working, for example, 2hours a day but five days a week would also get 28 days. Each of those 28 days would be of 2 hours.
Someone working 40 hours a week over 4 days would be entitled to 5.6 weeks holiday. Those weeks are the length of their working week of 4 days. So that is not 28 days: it would be 22.4 days.0
