Colleague off sick due to 'stress' when she is partying

In my team at work, there is a colleague who is a year younger than me with three kids under 7 and only works 3 full days in a row per week.
She phoned in sick at the beginning of the summer holidays due to 'stress'. She has been putting statuses on Facebook on days of the week she works about going out with friends and spending the day out in resorts like Blackpool with her family.
How can you be 'stressed' when you are able to do things like this?
She was unable to book any annual leave during the school summer holidays. There are other colleagues with school aged kids and they have accepted that they cannot get the weeks off the same time as the kids are off school.
Also my colleagues have also noticed that during the time of year when colds are prevalent is that the day before her first day at work she puts on her Facebook status something like 'great another cold'.
Then phones in sick for the three days. Funny how her colds happen to start on the same day of the week. At least one cold was made up as another colleague saw her on the bus during one if her sick days. This colleague asked her how was her cold. She replied 'what cold?' in a voice unaffected by a cold.
How to grass this colleague up? She has about 20 Facebook friends that also work with her.

Why would you want to grass them up?
Its none of your business what they are doing unless you are their bossWe’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Because of the extra stress and work it brings their colleagues???
OP, take screen shots and hand them to the boss to investigate, that is all you can do.
If you want to do it anonymously then create a new email and email them to the boss.Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0 -
The OP hasn't said they are under stress the other person is apparently hence being off or of ill.Takeaway_Addict wrote: »Because of the extra stress and work it brings their colleagues???

If the OP wants to tell tales that is nothing to do with them tread very carefully as you don't want to be labelled a trouble maker or something.
How long has the OP been at the company? Less than 2 years and they could get rid of you insteadWe’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
But not every illness is visible.
Also, people still need to live whilst 'sick', she may have no choice but to buy groceries etc for kids.
Maybe the days out are to relieve her of the stress?
You can't judge how someone reacts to stress through facebook. She is a fool for posting all of these things but I'd keep your nose out until you have solid evidence.0 -
If she is stupid enough to be out and about having fun you don't need to do anything - sooner or later someone else will;)Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

She is taking the p*ss, and not very bright if she is posting on FB about it. Ignore comments from people here who say it is nothing to do with you - if everyone in the company did the same, the company would go out of business."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

You know this isn't neccersarily true and depends on when the person started, you can be under 2 years and protected if you started before Apr 6th 2012.The OP hasn't said they are under stress the other person is apparently hence being off or of ill.

Also, regardless of whether the OP says they are under stress or not but its a given that if other staff have to pick the work up of sick people it does increase the stress levels though they may still be fine so I for one would want this investigated. If the bosses say its ok then its ok but it could also lead to the dismissal of the sick person and bringing in someone to take the work on.Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Which is why she should let the bosses investigate by showing them some of the posts.Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0 -
It is adding stress to our team as even though we work in a call centre - her hours are 12-8. The phone number for customers to ring us on opens til 8 and need more staff in the evening as that's when customers return home from work. Plus this time of year with colleagues on annual leave, the rest had our shifts messed up. Even my hours plus having to take home a colleague as the last bus home to his neck of the woods is at 7.
My dept is a small team compaired with the other depts and need certain numbers on the phones on certain days and times of day. Plus one of her days she works is Sundays and reduces the availability of the workforce by a third - half as there are no buses serving some parts where my colleagues live.0 -
Not in all jobs no as in some you have it on your desk when you get back, I know I have at all jobs unless it was urgent and the boss did it.Takeaway_Addict wrote: »You know this isn't neccersarily true and depends on when the person started, you can be under 2 years and protected if you started before Apr 6th 2012.

It is obviously no problem to the company that this person is off sick so its up to the OP what they want to do but I think its telling tales.
Its not like the OP has seen them out nightclubbing when they were off sick - the net is all hearsay and the person and the OP are mad to be 'friends' on FB anywayWe’ve had to remove your signature.
