DMP and marriage

Hello, I've been on a DMP for about three years and have several more years to go. My partner and I are having our first child and would like to marry so we all have the same name etc. but I am not sure if/how my poor financial record could affect my partner if we were to wed. We live together but have no joint financial arrangements (ie. bank accounts or loans) and neither of us is dependent on the other financially (ie. we both contribute equally to bills etc.). This arrangement would not change if we were to marry. Could the fact that we marry form an association which would mean he would be affected by my poor credit record, or could any of my creditors use the relationship to demand repayment from him? He has an immaculate credit record. Does anyone have experience of this or know the law in this area? I heard that it's financial links (ie. joint accounts) rather than marriage which creates associations, but am not sure if this is true.

If you have no joint loans, you'll not be associated with each other.

Its not joining by association, as far as I know, its more the financial attachment, ie; loans as Sharp points out, or mortgages.
I got there - I'm debt free and intend to stay that way. If I haven't got the cash, it doesn't get bought. It's as simple as that.
