Have tried supermarket (incl Tesco) brands and Domestos, both in Thick - Domestos definitely is far superior. Have been using mainly Domestos for over 40 years. Can't beat it.0

Tried Aldi own brand the other day- as thin as water and used a quarter of a bottle every time so going back to my old choice!0

Try Cook`s Bleach from Wing Yip - comes in big 5 ltr bottles and then decant into reused angled neck bottles (for firing up round the rim) using a funnel. Works well, clings to the loo and is cheap. They are also a brilliant source of white vinegar, bicarb, soda crystals and plastic pots for home cooking and freezing. Oh yes, and we sometimes buy Chinese food there as well!Debt September 2020 BIG FAT ZERO!
Now mortgage free, sort of retired, reducing and reusing and putting money away for grandchildren...0 -
Bleach has the same problem as disinfectant. Both of them are only as good as the percentage of active ingredient in them and, as No1cashcow says, a number of cheaper options are made to look like a good quality bleach/disinfectant by adding 'thickener'. I've pointed this out to our local Food Hygiene tutor, who was almost offended when I said that cheap disinfectant is a waste of money, and the same goes for cheap bleach, unless you tend to use it very seldom. It's essential to read the instructions for dilution. Generally, the more it needs diluting, the higher the percentage of active ingredient. Also beware that bleach goes off!0

I find some own brands just take longer to do the same job (bleaching the sink or toilet for example), and bleach without thickener or scents are better for the odd whites that need attention. But I've never bought value bleach.:AA/give up smoking (done)0
