Well, looking at the web page it says "EDF Energy" and "This code can be found on the back of the bonus points offer you have received."

So I'd guess it was a mailing to EDF Customers. As such you are not guaranteed to get the points, though I don't know how they can tell who are EDF customers and who aren't.
