Bad luck

It almost seems like a statistical improbability - if you're entering 150+ competitions a day, that's over 350,000 you've entered in the last 6.5 years at a conservative estimate. If you've won six times, that's one in every 59,000 competitions. With the amount of competitions you're entering, some of them must be the "low-yield" style (cd's, dvd's etc) with comparatively low numbers of entrants or higher numbers of small-value prizes.
Put it this way; if I threw a die 100 times, you'd expect the number six to come up about one in six times, yes? We know this doesn't always happen, as this is what games of chance are about, but you'd still expect to see a six a few times. If you didn't, you should suspect that the die is loaded. In your case, I'd suspect that there is something wrong, rather than just bad luck.
However, I am sending you ***<<<+++===GOOD LUCK===+++>>>*** !!! and I hope that you start to see some wins very soon!
Would LOVE to win:
A hamper - any sort! A goody bag - any sort! A UK mini-break. A year's supply of something foodie. Anything Sci-Fi related
2013 wins - Cutting Room book, Rock n Rose necklace, £50 M&S voucher, Greggs coffee, £70 voucher for a Onesie0 -
Thank you Austineer for the good luck messages
What do you mean by "I'd suspect that there is something wrong, rather than just bad luck" ? I'm confused ?
Thanks0 -
I would look close to home,by that I mean try local newspapers as they often run weekly competitions when you buy the paper.I think these have good odds.
Also try e mail comps if you don't already or postal.
Just thinking that these are lucky for me-hope you get lucky soon!0 -
Thank you ratstar, i will have a look at more local ones and give that a try.
Thank you all, good luck to you all too x0 -
When I first started comping I used to win one pretty decent win a month and lots of bits and bobs but I hardly win anything these days. Last month I won a mascara and a tiny bottle of shower gel from the stella daily and this month absolutely nothing.
I just don't worry too much now as if I'm in a dry spell I might as well enjoy the weather whilst its nice, going out with family and friends. When I do sit down and watch TV I enter what I can. Hopefully when the cold winter returns and I'll probably enter more again my dry spell will be over~ Smile and light up your world ~~ ask, believe, receive ~0 -
Thanks cezzy, good luck x0

Hi GeeBee38 - I think if I'd won that few times I might suspect that my email was not functioning correctly - I would have expected to have received at least a few WEM's per year. I only enter about 40 individual competitions a day (I enter a lot of low-value comps as I'd rather have a small win than no win at all) and have received two WEMS in the last month alone; of course, a WEM doesn't always mean that you need to respond with your details, but in the case of an increasing number of competitions only asking for your name and email, it's essential that you reply to the initial WEM to give your postal details.
Also, as I found when living in a block of flats with no secure area for post, little, unexpected packages can go missing quite easily. I used to be a freebie nut but quite often, even after weeks of waiting, I wouldn't get my freebies. I have no proof, but suspect that one tenant in particular was half-inching my little jiffy bags. Those little "surprise" wins we sometimes receive would be just as tempting, I'm sure.
I think that one win per nearly 60,000 competitions just seems a bit more bad luck.Would LOVE to win:

Thanks Austineer, i don't think it's my email, as i do get emails to tell me i wasn't the lucky winner etc and i get lots of promotional emails form the companies i have entered etc.
I do wonder if it could be my post code, i do live in a poor run down area, could that have something to do with it, you think?
