Temporary worker - Mortgage

After I finished university in September I went straight into a temporary 6 month job with the local Council. While I was in that temp job an internal vacancy for a job came up which was 2 years long which I managed to get.
The job I'm in is 99% likely to continue, however it's very likely that it will simply be another two year temp job.
My partner has didn't go to university and has been working so between me, her and family we will have a £25k deposit by this time next year. I earn £20k, she earns £12k + commission which usually takes her up to around £18k.
We would look to buy a house in the £130k - £140k range. My credit history is also rated as 'excellent' by the credit check agency I'm with.
Does me being in a two year temp job ruin my chances of getting a mortgage?
Thank you.

It will depend on how long is left on the contract when you apply.
Some lenders will accept if you have more than 12 months left, others want a period remaining and for the contract to have been renewed once, or a track record in that kind of industry.I am a mortgage broker. I cant answer the other question but can with regards the temp contract as I am on a fixed term contract with over twelve months to go.
I went through a broker and when gave all my details and they phoned round they got me a 25% LTV mortgage, 5 year fixed rate at 2.99%.
Not sure who it is with yet, but just to say that it is possible, but I couldn't/didnt have the time to phone round all sorts of providers to find one.0
