stupid question FB/TW comps

sorry for a dumb question, but I have been really wanting to know if you win a FB or TW comp, do they send you a PM, tweet, email, or tag you - or do you just have to hope you see it? I am worried I may miss something. Thank you for any help!

If you win they will contact you by direct message on twitter and the same for facebook. If they fail to do that it's completely their fault.

With Twitter they will usually @ mention you, occasionally they will DM you. So you need to check your mentions and DM's or have them set up to your mobile so you get notified that way.
With Facebook, if you entered via an App they tend to email you, with L&S comps, it's usually a case of having to look out for your name on their wall (or if you're useless on there like me, a kind friend will Tag you to let you know you won). Have only ever received one private message on Facebook for a win and it went into the "Other" messages folder and I didn't see it for weeks!

mghnew - click on @ connect (top leftish), then click on 'mentions' (about an inch under @ connect)

With the DVDs I've won on Twitter, the Twitter user has always sent me a direct message asking what my address is and then they send me the goods.

You have to be really fast, I think everyone pretty much does what I do and look at the first answer and copy that. If you're not the first person there then looking the answer up for yourself will kill your chances. The first answer I've copied has always been the right one every time.
