can i let my house on Woolwich/Barclays mortgage?

Am thinking of moving area and letting my maisonette, for a year initially can I do this with my Woolwich mortgage? And will I need to let them know?

    You should tell the Lender.

    Barclays Woolwich generally to grant consent to let for up to two years.

    They do this (probably without cost to you), if you are moving away for a fixed period. They don't like it if you are moving out indefinately.

    call them and tell them you are going to be moving out of the area for a year or two but will be back living in the house after this. I would think they will give you a consent to let for 2 years with no extra cost to you. After this you will need to either move back in or remortgage to a buy to let mortgage.

    Almost exactly 4 years ago I applied for consent to let at Woolwich. From memory I had to pay £150 for them to consider it, but consent was given without issue and I have heard nothing since.

    That was policy then Minmoz which you have benefitted from.
