Hi everybody.
Wasnt sure where to post this so thought this was the best place.
After many years of repairing the stupid things i'd done when younger im almost debt free.
only problem is my credit score/rating has been affected. i've done a check with the 3 main companies and they are showing defects going back to the 90's and early 2000'ish.
is there a way i can get them removed along with other small bits (late payments) from my records.
Any advice will be welcome
Paul

Have you got hardcopies of your credit reports from the 3 companies (call credit, experian and equifax)? I know it's a pain but if you haven't get them.
You'll need to go through each report separately and get yourself organised with the issues which you see and then phone them. Take your time - they're patient people
The first time I saw my reports I had many issues to resolve but with simple phone calls they were rectified. You may find that the credit report company simply open a case and track it for you. This does not cost you a penny :T
As far as I understand closed accounts can only stay on file for 6 years - anything beyond that should not be appearing. If it's an account you still use it should be updated.
When I spoke to all 3 about my details they were very prompt and polite and obviously used to dealing with such calls. Bottom line, some companies are lazy and simply don't send updates!!

...I'd have thought it depends whether or not you've got any good reason for them to be removed...Otherwise you'll just have to try and gradually rebuild your score...0
