Next furniture discontinued. Grr.

Am a little bit annoyed as I have just seen the new Next ranges and they have discontinued the Hudson furniture I had just started collecting. We only ordered the tv cabinet direct from store in April and there was no indication from the woman in the store it was being discontinued:mad:
Does anybody know (other than EBay which I am now watching religiously) if there is anywhere I can get this furniture from?
Thanks in advance

Can I ever learn this budgeting lark? So far it's not looking promising

Hi,
I've worked for next for quite a few years, and being totally honest with you we don't know what will be discontinued until about 2/3 weeks before the summer and winter sales.
The Hudson range was in store for about 6 months in my store and didn't sell a single item of it and we ended up selling display items at 75% off as we just could not get rid of it.
It might be work ringing a few local stores ASAP as the sale has now ended and unsold items are being recalled to the warehouse this week for distribution to the clearance stores.
Alternatively give head office a ring and see if there is any hanging around in a warehouse, if not unfortunately your out of luck as furniture is usually made for Next and not sold to other companies.0 -
Thanks I will email head office. If I can get it I will buy what I can and see. Many thanksCan I ever learn this budgeting lark? So far it's not looking promising

I think I'd better get on the phone. Sadly we live in the North East so it will have to be an Internet job to track stuff down.
I only want to complete my living room bits can out other stuff in the other rooms but I bought it as I loved the tv cabinet.
Lesson learnt to buy it in one go.Can I ever learn this budgeting lark? So far it's not looking promising

I usually tell customers to buy furniture all at once, if i know a range is being discontinued i will tell them.
I have actually had a formal complaint made in the past as i told a women that a range was being discontinued and if she wanted it she would be better buying it all at once, she thought i was trying the hard sell. She only bought the TV unit and 2 months later came and tried to order the other pieces in the range. She got pretty angry when i told her they had been discontinued, but as i remembered who she was i did remind her what i had said she was not to pleased.
When you ring head office try to play the sympathy card and say that you really like the furniture, they may offer you a discount on another range which will cover the cost of the TV unit you bought. It is not unheard of for them to do it just be persistent.0 -
There's a large sideboard in the clearance section on the website, I'd advise you check on there daily as you may get lucky.Hope that helps.0
