Mortgage Advice Needed

Hi,

I am new to money saving expert, i have been lurking on the forum for a while and was wondering if anybody could give me some advice.

We received an agreement in principle from GE Money Home Lending and susbequently had an offer accepted on the property that we wanted. However, since then 8 weeks (during which time we were aksed for various documents all of which we have provided) have passed and we have still not received the mortgage offer.

For the last two weeks I have been constantly ringing the broker (who can`t seem to tell me anything) and the people who are processing the application who keep telling me that its with the underwrietr and you`ll get it in the next few days.

What I am worried about is that I have a default on my credit record which is settled (other than that my credit history is fine) but my OH credit history is not perfect (which is why we had to go with ge money)

What do you think the chances of us actually getting the mortgage are-i`m getting really worried now given the lenght of time it is taking? Sorry for the long post, and advice would be much appreciated to calm my nerves!
