hiya had our offer through with nationwide for our right to buy. solicitor said they had sent something to the council and are waiting for a reply before they could do the searches. how long from this point does it take on average to complete everything. the council agreed on the price so i cant see any problems holding the sale up

2 months on average due to the inefficiency of the councils in the main - both in handling the paperwork (for instance many only complete on one day of the month) and as a result of slow handling of queries, in particular this is about their often appalling previous title register documentation.
