Hi
Friday night, I finally woke up to the fact that I am in debt and can't keep moving money about from card to card and keep spending. I have looked at my account and to my horror I can pay the minimum required but dont have any money for food or gas/electric or clothes and son needs school uniform soon too.
I have done the step2change debt thingy and they have recommended 2 options:
1 is bankrupty and 2 is DMP of £1.
I have 2 0% cards, (did one on thursday) and run out next year. I am 13k in debt.
I am looking for work but most of my experience is in the finance industry, would DMP affect my chances of getting a job as they will check my credit reference?
I am a struggling single mum who is in and out of depression. Sadly made redundant in april, can't work full time as the stress of it and on my son wasn't worth it. Just want a job to ease this pressure but hardly anything around and now scared that I am going to ruin my chances even further.
So ashamed, angry, disappointed with myself. How could I let myself get into this mess. Keep being sick and just want to hide but I know I can't.
Budget wise, I am cutting what I can. And now looking round the house for things to sell. Still got son's baby things, but so hard to go through as I always wanted another. My house is a mess, just let things pile on me and ignored it.

Didn't want to read and run. Ive started this journey anew times and always get so far and fall back into bad ways.
The only advice I can give is to read everything you can to get ideas and keep you motivated.
I only made it back onto the boards last week, and after calculating our debt I was surprised to find it was only £34200. I say only because I really thought it was closer to £60k.
We had tried the consolidation route far more times then I care to count and never learnt from it. just racked those credit cards up!
The guys on here are amazing and will be along with some brill advice soon
The first thing they ask for is a SOA. I bet they even provide the link too
Good luck

As the song says "You are not alone!" Worth making a SOA and if you want advice, share it so people can advise. Good luck!:rotfl:0
