Suspended from Twitter?

My comping account was suspended earlier for 'excessive following' and it also said something about my account being reported for spam.
All I do is enter retweet competitions, is that really spam?
Has anyone else experienced this? I was wondering if this is a common thing for comping accounts or if someone on another comping site is playing dirty and reporting people appearing on the top compers list (top 3 win vouchers every month).

I've not had problems on twitter (yet) but my new facebook account decided to stop me posting on peoples walls, it was just comments for comp entries :0 It wanted my mobile or credit card for verification which i refuse to do.0

This happens if you follow or tweet too many times in a short period, I don't think there's anything sinister behind it.Luck is believing you’re lucky – Tennessee Williams

You have my sympathy Gueld it is infuriating !
I got banned from facebook for much the same thing
Its very annoying that they like you to use them, they let the 'companies' post these competitions
But ban you if you do 'too many'
My 30 day ban is over soon & I will only enter comps that are really! really! really! interesting in future :rotfl::happylove Those who bring sunshine into the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves. :happylove0 -
Ah okay, thanks! I had already started tweeting normally a bit but maybe it's not enough. How annoying!0

Along with excessive following, there is also an hourly tweet limit, which is 100 tweets. Exceed this number and you cant tweet for an hour or two. Also there is a daily tweet limit which is 1000. I've hit the hourly tweet limit on more than one occasion, usually on a Friday when Twitter comps are a little crazy! Its annoying :mad:MSE Comping Since August 20110

I think it's more like 30 retweets in half hour and 100 tweets in total.
Twitter is usually fine for me - just hold back and stack up the comps to retweet gradually xxDecember Wins: £300 worth of board games, £500 Tesco Vouchers Best Win in 2023: £500 Tesco Vouchers0 -
My Twitter account is currently suspended for "aggressive following". Not sure when I'll get it back, I've sent them a nice message promising not to use Twitaculous any more.:beer:0

From what I understand, Like & Share comps are against FB's rules, as is using FB alone to contact winners, which is the only way a Like & Share comp would be able to contact you. (as are those badly designed FB apps that don't allow you to cancel out of "allow us access to your details").
I'm wondering if it's worth finding the definitive rules from FB and then reporting the companies that hold these types of comps.0
