Flow chart proposal

Even though I have been following this forum for some time, and have taken personal interest in two cases (back in the days when ignore the B**ggers was the best option), I do now find myself "confused" (In two minds would be better) about the best options for me to take were it to happen to me again.
Have we got a clear, unambiguous, flow-chart? If not, can we make one?
E.g.
START HERE (box) A COMPANY CLAIMS YOU OWE THEM MONEY
1. If you get a notice attached to the car, check if the company belongs to the BPA. Go to XXX to check this. If they do not, then ignore them and do not communicate with them. REASON: they have no means to obtain your address. if they do obtain your address this means XYZ .....
2. If the claim comes though the post, then .... etc

This has been done on pepipoo, myself I don't think it works very well as there are to many variables
http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showtopic=79356When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Was being discussed on PePiPoo the other day, I offered to build a Q&A website (based on a flowchart) but too many people thought it should be very simple when it's as clear as day to me that it is NOT simple, far from it (the flowchart that is, the website would be very simple technically, but the underlying logic is not).Je suis Charlie.0

The problem is that there are to many things to consider, and the first one is that it can't be just on private parking, the first question should be
1) is this a penalty charge by a council or fixed penalty by police? Then if so the flow chart should go off on that direction with help on that side
1) is this a private parking ticket issued on private land ?
2) is there mention of bylaws on the ticket?
3) was this ticket issued in England or Wales ?
And so onWhen posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.

Yes Stroma, that's exactly the idea. And from there the branches in the flowchart explode outwards!Je suis Charlie.0

That's the problem, because then it goes on who gave you this ticket, because the advice is dependent on that. Then onto when it was given to you and was it on the vehicle. Did the NtK come within time.
It's complex stuff and it needs to be done in a way that doesn't give the wrong info, IMO it's just easier to ask questions and get answers. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.

Rather than a flowchart to tell people what the "best" option for them is, I think it's more useful to make them aware of the options and potential consequences, and then let them decide for themselves.0

I can see I was being simplistic. OK, point taken. But we do all depend on people like coupon-mad typing the same things over and over ...... because everyone thinks their case is significantly different.
Are we winning or even stemming the tide.Under no circumstances may any part of my postings be used, quoted, repeated, transferred or published by any third party in ANY medium outside of this website without express written permission. Thank you.0 -
Nope nowhere near, but I would rather answer a hundred threads correctly than risk even one person getting the wrong end of the stick. It is frustrating at times, but that's life for you, there are sometimes no easy answersWhen posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. Yes, getting people in the poo by giving the wrong answer is a complete no-no. And however idiot-proof you try to make the questions someone will still misread something, answer incorrectly, and wind up with the wrong advice for their situation.Je suis Charlie.0
