'Becoming debt free and staying that way is a very difficult thing to achieve. When times get hard it can be hard to stay positive and keep on going. I've been having a hard time recently myself and know that a lot of others have also been feeling this way so I've decided that we need to have a challenge of sorts to boost our positivity which will give us a renewed energy to bust those debts!
The idea (and this is open to suggestions from others) is that I'll start up a daily thread where we'll post one thing we are doing to boost our positivity. Obviously this does not need to be debt or financially related. It could be something as simple as phoning an old friend we haven't spoken to in a while or fixing that dodgy floorboard that's been bugging for a while, reorganising the kitchen to make things flow easier and hence cutting back on stress etc etc etc Although these things aren't by themselves cutting back on our debts or helping financially they are helping to make our lives easier and make us feel that we have made a positive achievement in our day and to our lives in general.'
good morning darling dfw's, it's a bit grey outside up here, nothing unusual really! hope it's a bit better for the weekend.
am in two minds about going home at the mo as I've decided it's time to spend a little time on me! please don't be too shocked about this but I have decided to get my hair cut and coloured at a fancy hair salon, I've not been to a hairdresser since I was 18 (now 25) and with the doctor mentioning it's condition I think it might need it. The plan is to get it back towards my natural colour and let it be for a while, am also gonna let the haridresser choose a style for me, nothing too outragous! but something that doesn't need straightened to death every day and as I'm thinking of growing it something thats not gonna look crap after a week's growth!
am also thinking about getting a few new pieces of clothing and I've still got a free manicure voucher from tampax which I think is valid till august so a proper ME time ahead.
perhaps those can be next week's aims to get done??? argh life is too complicated sometimes!
anyway back on topic, today I think my positive thing is going to be trying to get my essay finished, if I do that means I can spend tomorrow morning cleaning the house as it's not been touched in a week or more!
what exciting things are you guys up to today???

Morning LJ - good for you deciding to treat yourself, we all need it sometimes
I've not been my natural hair colour for more than ten years - it's probably gone grey under all that dye without me noticing
My positive for today is going out with a mate later - really looking forward to it, and to be extra positive I won't spend any more than I've got in my purse and I won't drink too much as it seems to turn me into a grumpy cow at the moment!
And I've bought lots of fruit & veg on the way to work as I think I need some more vitamins - had a cold since the weekend so lots of orange juice for me

Well I intended to get three hours of revision done before work but it's now 11 and I'm leaving home at 1 and I need to have lunch, doh.
So I will be positive as I can still do around 90 mins and I have the whole evening too.No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -

hehe know how you feel with that gemmzie, was supposed to have three hours to sort out my essay, up at 9, showered and on the pc by 10 then finished to leave for work about 1 ish. except I didn't get up till after half nine and it went downhill from there  have now kinda decided to go get my things together and nip into town before work, need shampoo n few other bits so i'll go get them now. good luck with the revision xx0 -
Hi LJ et al :hello:
Well - I have finally got around to booking a haircut (though not the freebie one from Herbal Essences unfortunately) - I decided that my current wild & wookie-like 'do' is not going to cut the mustard at an important job interview on Friday, and the freebie one couldn't be fitted in before then, so booked a £40  one for tomorrow morning. Hmm, not very DFW, but I've not had my hair actually cut for about 2 years and it's just disgusting!
Tonight though I am going to get organised for the weekend ahead (IoW festival) - I'm going to do some washing so I actually have clean knickers to take with me (always useful!), finish the t-shirts I'm making (friend's hen weekend) and generally check I've got spare batteries, loo rolls etc etc.
Stay positive everyone!

ooh Lyns - that sounds nice - and def needed

I have been inspired by your thread and have got out chicken soup for the soul from the library. I read about a lovely teacher who got everyone in her class to write a couple of nice things about everyone else in the class and then they all kept others comments about themselves - very heartwarming. So my positive thing was today with my yr 7 and then yr 8 class, I got them to draw round their hands and pop their name on a piece of white paper and then they had to pass round their 'hands' and the rest of the class had to write something positive about them.
Worked very well and they all left smiling. I fear I was a little 'american' with them and went slightly over the top with the second class telling them they had to make one person smile a day for the next week by doing something kind.

Lovely idea for a thread... like it alot!
My positive thing for the day is... bogging off from work early and spending some time down the pub with some mates and having a bloody good laugh at nothing at particular!Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.0
