Chedder cheese that has gone dry and hard

Options
I was wondering if I can still use it in a recipe if anyone knows?
It's not mouldy or anything but its gone dry and hard and I could do with some extra cheese in the recipe I am cooking
Does anyone know if it would actually melt or just stay hard and be horrible and chewy?
Thanks!

It's fine for cooking, ideal way to use it up.

It will melt into your sauce or whatever but may not be quite so good if you try to grill it.

I'd make a cheese sauce with it :) You could make cauli cheese, macaroni cheese, lasagne etc with it.
