Folksy or Etsy for selling crafty items?

The title says it all really - which would you recommend for selling handmade, craft items - Folksy or Etsy?

It depends on where you want your client base to be, I think. As far as I'm aware, Folksy is mainly UK, whereas Etsy is more worldwide (particularly popular in the US though).0

SkintMonkey - I agree re: location. If you are not interested in selling outside the UK I am not sure how successful selling on etsy will be.
One thing in etsy's favour is that it is very well known even amongst the general public. Folksy doesn't seem to be well-known outside the craft world. I remember someone on the Folksy forums said the problem with it is that it is crafters selling to other crafters. Obviously it's better to sell to people who couldn't just make one themselves! Presumably it will get better known over time though.0 -
I just wanted to add that coriandr is another handmade selling platform as well as folksy in the UK. I have sold on both of these before.Debt Free One Day
